The Prehistory of Plautdietsch
Plautdietsch - an Indo-European language:
- Indo-European: a single language family, thought to have originated in the area of the Black Sea ca. 6,000 years ago
- Speakers spread over the course of millennia throughout Europe and northern India, leaving small communities of speakers along the way
- Over time, the language spoken by each of these communities diverged, eventually becoming the majority of the separate languages spoken in Europe today
